Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland E-mail: ukmstissuebank@imperial.ac.uk | Provision of human tissue for research into multiple sclerosis The UK Multiple Sclerosis Tissue Bank welcomes requests for tissue samples for use in research into the cause and treatment of multiple sclerosis. It has available post mortem, cryopreserved brain and spinal cord tissue both fixed and unfixed, and cerebrospinal fluid from patients with and without a history of multiple sclerosis. Freshly dissected tissue samples, or those preserved using unconventional techniques may also be made available by prior arrangement.The Tissue Bank has been supporting research on multiple sclerosis since 1998; the attached list of projects gives details of the studies that have been supplied with tissue donated to the Bank. Requests for tissue must be made on the attached tissue request form. All applications will be treated in confidence and be reviewed by the Tissue Bank's Management Board.
